SynField is a comprehensive smart farming and smart irrigation system based on head and peripheral IoT nodes that connect field sensors and automation equipment. Synelixis has developed the SynField X2, SynField X3, SynField X5 head nodes as well as the SynOdos and SynNano peripheral nodes. Each node supports sensors and/or automation systems, enabling real-time monitoring of field conditions and remote control of your agricultural operation.

A typical example includes soil moisture monitoring at one or multiple locations and remotely controlling one or more irrigation (latching) electrovalves to automate irrigation management. The nodes enable the transmission of sensor data to the SynField cloud platform and the delivery of commands from the platform to field automation equipment. Head nodes have direct Internet connectivity and communicate directly with the SynField cloud platform.

When is a SynOdos or SynNano peripheral node needed?

In large-scale agricultural operations and precision irrigation applications, peripheral nodes extend the SynField network, enabling coverage of larger areas for smart farming and smart irrigation applications. Communication between the head node and the peripheral nodes is wireless (LoRa), with the head node acting as a communication and control gateway that connects the field network to the SynField cloud platform.
